CAVB Board meets via Zoom to nominate the 2020 Congress organisers
Cairo, Egypt, September 5, 2020- The African Volleyball Confederation “CAVB” Board of Administration presided by Dr Amr Elwani meets on Sunday September 6, 2020 at 13:00 Cairo time (11:00 GMT) via zoom to nominate the CAVB Congress organisers to be held on October 24 and 25, 2020.
After the end of the deadline, 3 countries send their applications to host the Congress, namely Uganda, Niger and Tanzania, while Rwanda and Togo sent their applications after the closure of the system on August 30, 2020 at 12:00 Cairo time, 10:00 GMT.
The CAVB will declare on September 7, 2020 the final host of the Congress after the final decision taken by CAVB Board of Administration.
The Congress organisation was dedicated before to South Africa, but due to the widespread of Coronavirus in the country, CAVB decided to re-open the applications to host the event.
“We need to follow CAVB regulation and show the transparency in choosing the organiser of the Congress,” Said CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani
“The CAVB Board will declare the final decision after the meeting following the final inspection of all the documents sent to CAVB from the 5 NFs.
