BKBNL: Beleck Bell helped REG edge Espoir

Forward Beleck Bell led REG with 24 points, including 18 in the first 2 quarters of the game. REG BBC beat Espoir BBC 89-60.

Friday, June 11th, Rwanda’s Basketball league continued with REG BBC hosting Espoir BBC at IPRC Kigali court. REG started high and finish the first quarter with a two digits lead, 30-14

REG further extended their lead in the second quarter and put in 24 baskets to 17 of Espoir. The Nyamirambo based club, Espoir tried to come back in the third quarter but Beleck Bell and REG were too much to handle. It ended 18-15 in favor of Espoir.

In the last quarter, REG’s head coach, Henry Mwinuka made much better use of his roster with Christian Gatambira, and Theoneste Gatsinzi making back-to-back 3 pointers to finish off the game with a final score of 89-60.

Beleck Bell dropped 24 points while the new point guard, Adonis Filet scored 13 on his debut.

Espoir’s Alex Musabwa played his first game too. The new center from IPRC Huye scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Heritier Irumva added 19 points for Espoir.

At Petit Stade, UGB recorded their first loss of the season as they were beaten by the powerhouse, Patriots 67-58. Frank Dushimimana, Espoir Aganze, and Elias Ngoga were good as they scored in double digits but they didn’t get enough help from their teammates. The trio combined scored 43 points.

Kenyan Bush Wamukota scored a game-high 22 points. Ndizeye Dieudonne contributed 16 points for Patriots too
