APR Women Basketball team kept its winning streak intact on Sunday afternoon, fending off a determined RP-IPRC Huye squad 80-71. G.S Gahini won their first-ever league game.

In a Friday night match at Lycée de Kigali, REG Women BBC defeated UR Huye with an outstanding score of 150–43 to kick off a jam-packed weekend of basketball competitions. Feza Ebengo scored 35 points and had 20 rebounds.

In Rwaza, Musanze region, on Saturday, Groupe Scolaire Marie Reine defeated the Hoops Rwanda 52-38. For the Rwaza ladies, Yvonne Muhawenimana and Henriette Uwimpuhwe scored a total 40 points. A game-high 24 Points were tallied by Uwimpuhwe (10-18 FG, 3-7 3P).

Prior to their matchup at Lycée de Kigali on Sunday, APR and IPRC Huye defeated Gahini and UR Kigali, respectively.

On Sunday, March 12, the Army squad played in the Rwanda Basketball League and continued its winning run. They defeated RP-IPRC Huye easily, 80-71, to move to 3-0 overall.

Assouma Uwizeye filled out the stat sheet with 22 points and ten rebounds. Charlotte Umugwaneza added 12 points and nine rebounds

Linda Nandy Uwitomze led IPRC Huye with 24 points, five rebounds, and 3 assists. With 21 points, 18 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block, Lisiane Ngomba Badibanga put forth a strong effort.

In the other contests, Groupe Scolaire Gahini won its first league game by defeating UR Kigali 54-36 in the Lycée de Kigali Stadium.

Coach Lambert Ihimbazwe’s team put on a solid display to win their first game in the top-tier division.

Ange Uwiringiyimana scored 15 points in this historical win.

With no prior rest, the defending champions REG Women BBC took the court against the Hoops Rwanda on Sunday afternoon and gave it their all. Rosine Micomyiza was outstanding, and REG defeated The Hoops 74-37 as was to be expected. Her 27 points were made up of 7 threes.

In Rwaza, Henriette Uwimpuhwe had another outstanding offensive performance as GS Marie beat UR Huye 86-38. The 2020/2021 season most improved player scored 34 points in 35 minutes played.

With no game dropped, REG and APR are in the lead.
