Later on, the Paulo De Tarso-coached team comfortably defeated Lesotho and Burkina Faso 3-0. Today’s success convinced them that if they beat Morocco tomorrow, they would finish second in Group B, ensuring they would take on the third-place finisher in Group A in the quarterfinals.

Group B is comprised of Cameroon, the hosts and defending champions, Algeria, Egypt, Burundi, Mali, and Nigeria

Tomorrow, Nigeria and Algeria will compete for third place in this group while Egypt and Cameroon appear more at ease in the top two spots.
