Natukunda Rachael and other fresh grads from AFRIYEA Golf Academy have affirmed how great the achievements of the academy are.
Three months old golfing student, Natukunda Rachael plus graduates from AFRIYEA Golf Academy continue to impress after a distinguished act at one of Tooro Golf Club’s oldest tournament, the Captain’s Tournament that took place on Christmas Eve. The tournament started during the colonial time and is still very vibrant at this noble club of 127 years old.
The contest attracted 35 golfers dominated by the Tooro Golf Club followed by the Uganda Golf Club (UGC) and the AFRIYEA Golf Academy AGA juniors who outperformed all other competitors.

AGA an academy that only started in September 2020 continues to show that it can achieve its goal of affording youth and adults the primary skillset required to play golf. Recent accomplishments include the graduation ceremony where the pioneer students were awarded a basic level certificate.
Natukunda Racheal credited AFRIYEA Golf Academy for their countless effort given to the students to get the best golf skills and she laments that “Without AFRIYEA, I could not have got a chance to hit the golf ball and I appreciate all the coaches. I promise to work hard towards my dream of playing for the Uganda golf national team.”
Andrew Biryabalema the Golf Captain of Tooro Golf Club appreciated the sponsors of this event during this hard time of COVID-19 which has terribly affected all business but he said Kalya Courts has brought great support to this club in both good and bad times.
David Mugambwa the director of Kalya Courts appreciated all the players who came to participate in the tournament and promised to continue supporting it.
He also clearly cited out the course member Akiiki Jill Pinda for her tremendous work done to maintain the course in a very playable condition for golfers.
