AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Rwanda and Nigeria share the spoils.

AFCON 2025 Qualifiers
Rwanda and Nigeria both walk away with a point following a tough 0-0 draw in their AFCON 2025 Qualifiers Group D match held at Amahoro Stadium.

In the presence of president Paul Kagame, Rwanda and Nigeria battled to a 0-0 stalemate on Tuesday, September 10, in the first international match at Amahoro Stadium since January 2022.

After a 1-1 draw away in Libya, Torsten Spittler’s team hosted their first match of the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers Group D, which also ended in a draw.

Rwanda was fortunate not to lose, thanks to goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwali, who made several crucial saves to keep the Amavubi in the game.

Although the Super Eagles were the superior side, Rwanda’s strong defensive organization earned them a fair result.

Following the draw, Nigeria remains at the top of the group with four points, ahead of the Benin vs. Libya match, while Rwanda holds second place with two points.

Rwanda’s next fixtures in the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers will be a double-header against Benin in October.
