APR BBC kick-started the new BKBNL season with a home victory over visitors 30 Plus BBC on Friday night in a thrashing 112-55 win at Petit Stade.
The game was tight in the first quarter as it ended 17-15 in favor of the Army side, APR BBC.
In the second quarter, Coach Cliff Owuor’s side got off to a commanding, heavy, and double-digit lead which the opponent found difficult to recover from, 33-7, and at the break, the visitor, 30 Plus BBC was trailing APR 22-50.
In the third and fourth quarter, APR BBC was in full control as they increased their lead over 30 Plus where scored 26-16 and 36-17 respectively. A heavy defeat for 30 Plus as the final score was 112-55.
Emmanuel Iyakaremye “Nzuru“ led the way for his home team scoring 25 points in 35 minutes of play and shooting 55% in general. Nzuru had an amazing performance with 11 rebounds and 14 assists too. His Teammates Armel Sangwa, Fiston Irutingabo, Olivier Kamilindi, Thierry Nkundwa, and Jean Marie Rukerimbere, all contributed double-digit scores.
For the visitors, The team captain, Yvan Axel Rwema scored 12 points, whilst teammate Remy Ndahayo, came off the bench and had an impressive individual performance by knocking down 12 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in the 15 minutes played.
The former champions, APR BBC had no services from their big man, Marius Ntwali, and new recruits in Mike Buzangu, Ally Kazingufu, and Junior Kasongo who were all in the stands following and supporting their teammates.
