APR FC has been crowned the Rwanda Premier League champions, after beating Police FC 2-0 on the final day of the season at Kigali Stadium, becoming the first side to reach the 20 league titles in Rwandan history.
Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club, APR FC confirmed their dominance of the local league by lifting their third straight title yesterday with an easy 2-0 win over the cops. The Army side won the league by a one-point gap.
APR FC had gone into match day 30 needing just a win to clinch a third consecutive championship, and there was little Police FC could do to stop their party as they have never beaten them for over 7 years.
A second-half brace from Gilbert Mugisha assured the APR fans that whatever happened to Kiyovu vs Marines match, won’t ruin their party at Kigali Stadium. The win took APR’s points tally to 66, one more than second-placed SC Kiyovu.
