The Rwanda Premier League is on matchday 3 and the champions APR FC have played their first game today.

The Army side hosted SC Kiyovu at Kigali Stadium where they won 1-0 thanks to an own goal by a defender, Ally in the 36th minute.

Sports Club Kiyovu led by former APR FC player Olivier Karekezi recorded a lose, yet another setback following a defeat from Marines FC Last Tuesday. Kiyovu had affirmed that they are title contenders after the fresh signings before the season starts, however they have only accumulated 3 points from the 3 games played.

On sunday, APR will travel to Nyagatare Stadium to encounter Moses Basena’ Sunrise. Basena’s side will be looking to win for the first time since the new campaign launched. Sunrise has drawn twice and lost 1 game. Meanwhile SC Kiyovu will host the unfit AS Muhanga at Kigali Stadium.
