The defending Champions APR FC claimed the bragging rights in the Rwandan Derby, as Adil Erradi’s side ran out comfortable 2-1 winners against rivals Rayon Sports at Kigali Stadium.
APR FC who recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win in the 93rd Rwandan derby on Tuesday, November 23, extended their unbeaten run to 40 matches in the Rwanda Premier League and Mohamed Adil Erradi continued to write the history.
Adil Mohammed, who joined the team in the summer of 2019, replacing Serbian Zlatko Krmpotić sacked for poor performance, has not yet lost a single league game.
Rayon Sports opened the score in the 18th minute of the match, a goal scored by Essomba Willy Onana on a fine ball from Rharb Youssef, to make a great finish from the Cameroonian striker.
In the 38th minute, on a back-pass error by Isaac Nsengiyumva, Djabel Manishimwe fired a powerful shot past the Rayon Sports goalkeeper to make it 1-1.
4 minutes later, Bosco Ruboneka scored the second goal for APR FC with a stunning strike. this was his second goal of the season.
In the second half, Djuma Massudi’s side dominated the match but failed to find an equalizer.
Elsewhere, in Gicumbi district, Ramadhan Niyonkuru scored the game-winner and only goal of the game in the 55th minute against Gicumbi FC to hand SC Kiyovu the first 3 away points of the season.
At Bugesera stadium. Hassan Djibrine scored two brilliant goals as Gasogi United came from behind to lead 2-1 against Bugesera. Gasogi are now leading the table with 10 points.
