Express FC Coach Bossa Wasswa is confident his team will finish in the top 4 this season. He won the first home and league match today to convince that his objective can be met.
Despite going through many injuries and also missing very many clear moments to score goals, the Red Eagles achieved their victory of the season at the home grounds, Wankulukuku Stadium.
Bossa’s side capitalized on the early opportunities to take the lead with 2 goals in less than 10 minutes after Kickoff. Frank Kalanda opened the scoring with an amazing strike at the 3-minute mark followed by another 5 minutes later from Eric Kambaale.
Soltilo Bright Stars started the game with many errors in their defense but later tried to correct their mistakes and even pulled back one goal before the halftime break. Express FC, on the other hand, had very many chances that could have derived more than 2 goals to widen their lead but these all went to waste.
“What is most important is we got many chances, that is true but we managed to score two goals from these chances. We are going to go back to correct our mistakes and concentrate. Even in the first game, we scored one, followed by two in the next game so, which means we can score 3 in the next game as we continue to correct our mistakes,” said Bossa.
“First of all, we were at home. Getting 3 points at home is great. We are going back to correct our mistakes from this game but it is good to get 3 points at home and also look at the next game against Mbarara,” said Issa Lumu.
“What is most important is that I know my target and my target is to finish in the top 4. we trust all the players that we have. Winning the game was tough, Bright Stars is a good team, they have good players. If we managed to win this game even with the lack of match fitness means that every game forthcoming will bring an improvement,” Bossa Added
