Patriots BBC’s new signing, Cole Elliot Lamar, delivered a game-high 26 points, leading his team to an 86-78 victory over Tigers and helping them return to winning ways in the Rwanda Basketball League.
On February 7 at LDK Gymnasium, Lamar led the Patriots to a crucial win over Tigers, helping them rebound from their loss to UGB. The American guard, who joined the team this week, quickly proved his value
The Patriots desperately needed a point guard following the departure of William Perry, and Lamar’s debut suggested he could fill that void effectively.
Lamar shot 8-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-11 from behind the arc, and converted 6-of-7 free throws to tally a game-high 26 points.

He received strong support from Steven Hagumintwari, who scored 22 points, and Frank Kamndoh, who added 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

For Tigers, Fiston Irutingabo led the way with 15 points, followed by Pitchou Manga (14) and Nickelberry David Emre (13).
Despite adding Lamar, Munyandamutsa’s Patriots continue to struggle with roster balance. Against Tigers, their bench contributed only eight points, all scored by captain Olivier Kamilindi.

The win over Tigers helped the Patriots recover from a 73-69 defeat against UGB, following their dominant 89-64 victory over Azomco in the season opener.
With a 2-1 record, Patriots currently sit in third place behind the undefeated APR and REG.
