Tanzania’s TFF has parted ways with head coach Etienne Ndayiragije after a poor performance in CHAN. Kim Pulsen is favourite to replace him.

In the statement released by the Tanzania FA, a gesture of appreciation was made towards the work Etienne Ndayiragije has done during his time on the Tanzanian national team. “The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has reached an agreement to terminate the contract with the coach of the national team ‘Taifa Stars’ Etienne Ndayiragije. Both sides reached an agreement after a joint session. TFF thanks Ndayiragije for his hard work in coaching the National Stars and wishing him well wherever he goes. TFF will announce his replacement after the completion of the acquisition process,” stated in the statement.

The Burundian tactician was in charge of handling the Taiffa stars since August 2019. Sources say that 61-year-old Danish coach, Kim Pulsen, who managed this team in 2012 but was sacked shortly before the end of his two-year contract, is the one to replace Ndayiragije. This has however not yet been approved by Tanzania Football Association.

Tanzania under the guidance of Etienne Ndayiragije in CHAN Championship held in Cameroon got eliminated at the group stage where they finished third in Group D with 4 points. they lost against Zambia, defeated Namibia before drawing with Namibia.
