Futsal Association Uganda FAU unites with sports facility and events management company Sport Edge and live broadcast company Deep End Sports Media.
The youngest and fast-growing sport in Uganda, futsal continues to broaden as the governing body has partnered with 2 companies, Sports Edge and Deep End Sports Media.
Sport Edge is an independent, full-service sports consultancy agency specializing in elite athlete management, image building, media relations, athlete branding, events and facility management and talent sourcing.
Deep End Sports Media is an online broadcast company that records, streams and distribute motion pictures from sports events.
CEO Ibrahim Mugera on boxing day at a media brief announced the MOUs that the association signed with the two parties named above and what facilities they bring that will see the growth of the young sport.
FAU in November went into another union with Uganda Youth Football Association that will bring futsal to the interest of youth in the country with major aspects of the project included competition, coaching, and refereeing.
The new tie-up with Sport Edge will bring onboard the service of sports events management of the Corporate Futsal Tournament with technical expertise, operational amenities, gate collections as well as doing marketing and promotion for the futsal tournament provided.
“This is a great opportunity to take the game of futsal to the corporate family as we have really been missing it on this segment of the game but we hope that this will be a great tool for creating awareness for the game of futsal,” said CEO FAU Mr. Ibrahim Mugera
“We look forward to taking on the next or immediate event scheduled for around March 2021. So we call upon all corporates to join hands to improve the game of futsal and give athletes a chance to excel and also have endorsements equally earned from their efforts,” said Sports Edge Limited Executive Director Norbert Kazibwe.
As for Deep End Sports Media, we have seen them at mainly the National Basketball League and cricket events so this means that futsal will stream on both Deep End sports and FAU media platforms.
“Deep End gets to record, broadcast and distributes all futsal games that inclusive of the pre-game and post-game material on all online Deep End Sports media and FAU sports media. So, this a great opportunity for futsal as a game as it aims at creating more game awareness especially on the online media platform,” Ibrahim said.
“We are very excited to get into a partnership with Futsal Uganda. We shall be streaming live futsal games, all you have to do is to go onto YouTube, look for Deep End Sports Media,” said DES Media Operations Manager.
