FERWAFA and RBA signed a partnership agreement in a gesture that will see RBA broadcast Football matches in Rwanda Premier League.
On Tuesday, October 3, 2020 at FERWAFA Head Quarters, The local football governing body (FERWAFA) and Rwanda broadcasting Agency (RBA) signed a 3-year deal for the latter to air the league and other local football competitions organized by FERWAFA.
The 2019/2020, the football league had no broadcasting channel since the Rwanda FA and Azam TV decided to terminate the contract at the end of 2018/2019 season that still had one year to run. This comes in response to football fans in Rwanda who have not yet been allowed to return to the stadiums as the football season is about to start. The National Broadcaster through its second channel, KC2 will transmit at least 2 games per matchday in the upcoming Premier League that is set tentatively to start on December 4, 2020.
It is said that Rwanda FA is in the last stages of discussions with one of the largest brewer and soft beverage company in the country to take the naming right of Rwanda Premier League.
