“I’m called Ihunde Florence Namara and it’s been 2 years of great experience and learning in golf.”
“I grew up not participating in any sports activity. I guess I was too lazy and quiet when it comes to sports, but I fell in love with golf because it suits my character. It is a gentle, classy, and peaceful game,” said Florence Namara.
I have one challenge and that’s time, golf needs a lot of time, concentration with a sober mind, u can’t have a good game while you are upset or having a disturbed mind. I’m always busy attending to business, which takes 80% of my time every day hence I lack enough time to do my practice and that’s some times affects my performance.
Florence Namara has always been inspired by Tiger woods since childhood and used to read so much about him in newspapers but didn’t know what it took to play such a beautiful game. “I have one challenge and that’s time, golf needs a lot of time, concentration with a sober mind, u can’t have a good game while you are upset or having a disturbed mind. I’m always busy attending to business, which takes 80% of my time every day hence I lack enough time to do my practice and that’s some times affects my performance,” she added.
Florence Namara says that AFRIYEA Golf Academy has done a great job in helping kids explore and develop their hidden talents, it’s been a challenge over the years, everyone considered golf as a game for the rich but that’s not true, all it takes is courage, determination and sacrifice. She continued with a vote of thanks to the CEO AFRIYEA Golf Academy for such a great initiative which first of its kind in the Tooro region and Uganda at large, aimed at grooming our future golfers, the students are exhibiting good performance.
Namara is positive the students are going to be the best golfers in the country if at all they keep up the spirit, because they have gone through the right hands of professionals from the national team. They are are good listeners and eager to try out new things, which makes them good learners.
“I wish to congratulate the winners in the previous tournaments, indeed AFRIYEA’s effort hasn’t gone to waste amidst COVID 19 challenges, one of the goals was to keep the kids busy with fresh minds throughout the times they have been off school,” Florence Namara continued.
Kudos AFRIYEA, the sky isn’t the limit in golf.
