Malawi Destroy Uganda Cranes' Chance To Advance From The Group Stages

Uganda Cranes chances of advancing to the AFCON 2022 Cameroon destroyed by Malawi.

Without a coach, Uganda Cranes were stunned after a 1-0 defeat in Lilongwe by the Flames. Richard Mbulu scored the only goal of the game in the 15th minute. Mbulu who had stationed in Uganda cranes six-yard box for some time found a cross from the right-wing that failed Joseph Ochaya to clear and headed one past Denis Onyango.

Cranes had all the time to find an equaliser but failed to convert their chances. After impressive runs by Moses Waiswa and Ibrahim Orit in Kitende against Burkina Faso, interim coach Abudallah Mubiru handed them starting slots but Malawi had organised well to stop cranes.

Cranes only wanted a point to progress but failed to equalize Malawi in 90 minutes. Meaning Burkina Faso who did business and won against stubborn South Sudan 1-0 at home progressed with Malawi for AFCON 2022 CAMEROON.

AFCON QUALIFIERS.
MALAWI 1 0 UGANDA.
BURKINA FASO 1 0 SOUTH SUDAN.
