Sunrise has confirmed the signing of a Rwandan defender from KCB

The Centre-back, who completed 2-years contract at KCB, the club did not want to extend his contract as a result he opted to move to Nyagatare district based club in eastern Province of Rwanda.

Sunrise FC struggled defensively last season. In 23 games, they scored 36 goals and conceded 33 goals even if their former striker Babuwa Samson led the scorer’s charts.

It is in this context that the team is concerned with building a sustainable defense. Ndayishimiye Celestin and Mpozembizi Mohamed, both defenders, signed from Police FC.

Hereafter, via their twitter account, Sunrise announced that they have signed Gabriel Mugabo.

“The team is pleased to announce the signing of Rwandan International defender, Mugabo Gabriel. He is a Sunrise FC player for the next 2 years”

The team has also given letters to players urging them to return to the club’s headquarters to hold a meeting to prepare for next season. The Rwanda Premier League season 2020-2021 is tentatively scheduled to kick-off on October 30, 2020
