Bienvenu Mugenzi come off the bench and score a winner for a 10-man SC Kiyovu to claim all three points in a hard-fought 2-1 win over Police FC at Muhanga Stadium.
Looking to close the gap to the league leaders, Kiyovu was on pressure to take three points, however, the spoils looked set to be shared before Mugenzi’s dramatic late intervention.
Kiyovu had gone ahead after only 2 minutes when Riyaad Norodien capitalised from Police’s defensive mistakes to take an early lead at Muhanga stadium.

Just in the final second of the first half, Vincent Mashami’s men were rewarded for their efforts. Danny Usengimana scored a well-deserved equalizer with a close-range shot. The striker has now scored in four straight games. 1-1 at the interval.
It got worse for Kiyovu when Ismael Nshimirimana was given a second yellow card and dismissed as Police FC continued to dominate the match. A 10-man Kiyovu had to endure 20 minutes of suffering.
However, despite Police FC being the superior team for the majority of the match, the visitors, Kiyovu, won when Mugenzi slid a shot past Janvier Kwizera with just three minutes remaining in the game.
Mugenzi scored off the bench after coming on for Bertrand Iradukunda in 65 minutes.
SC Kiyovu is 2 points behind the leaders APR FC and will be locking horns with Etincelles in the next match.
