Iganga based OBB to play Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) in the opening match of the National Volleyball League 2021/2021 season

The opening match of the season is usually against the defending champions of both the previous National Volleyball League and National Cub Championship.

This year in clear to see that the opening matches selected will put on a good show for the fans. In the men’s, OBB will face off KAVC.

Both teams are a force to reckon with as we have seen KAVC over the years winning numerous trophies while OBB, a promoted team from Serie B has proven to be a headache for most popular teams like Nemo, Sport-S and the like.

As for the ladies, it’s yet another university derby between the Elites from Ndejje University and top gun bankrolled KCB-Nkumba.

Ndejje and Nkumba played the final match from last season displaying some of the best volleyball you can experience in the country.

KCB-Nkumba emerged as the victors thus hold the National Volleyball League title for women. Ndejje on the other hand has a couple of trophies this year including, the Ndejje Open and the recently concluded National Club Championship.

The Uganda Volleyball Federation has not yet announced the venues that will be used for the upcoming season but for the League Launch, Old Kampala Arena is the suitable choice. Who knows we might see more big games happen at this venue.

Venues for volley games over the years included UCU Sports Grounds, Nkumba University Sports Grounds, Nsambya Sports Grounds, Ndejje University Sports Grounds, and many more.

Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 will see the Old Kampala Arena host NDEJJE VS KCB-NKUMBA at 12:00 pm and thereafter OBB VS KAVC at 03:00 pm.

The Uganda Volleyball federation has not yet the fixtures for the league but with the launch, we should expect to know when other games will soon start.
