Host Ndejje Volleyball Club was all out to keep their trophy at home in the cabinet where it belongs.
It was an all-out battle for the ladies and gentlemen from Ndejje Volleyball Club as they fought had to keep the Ndejje University Volleyball Open trophy at home. Games started with the men’s as Orange Block Busters OBB VC had to travel back to Iganga.
Ndejje Volleyball Club had all its top guns on the court to overcome the strong forces of newly promoted big spenders OBB VC. OBB VC played in Serie-B before a promotion to Serie-A in the previous season and with new sighings, they have proved to be a force to reckon with.
The first final played last weekend did not yield a champion citing visibility issues thus a rematch today. Ndejje Volleyball Club showed OBB VC that more work has to be put in at training to beat a more experienced top-flight league side after a 3-0 victory.
OBB VC has also organized their first, the OBB INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT in July at the weekend of 10th and 11th. Should Ndejje Volleyball Club step foot at Iganga OBB Ground, bombs will be dropped.
Not only did the gentlemen make a statement, but also the ladies of the University team against KCCA VC. As a reminder, KCCA VC was not forgiving at the playoffs in November 2019 when they kicked Ndejje Women’s Volleyball Club out of the finals.
For that matter, it was now time for the ladies of Ndejje to get their revenge against league contenders KCCA VC. The visitors only managed to secure the first set of the match before the host came raining down balls on them to win the 3-1 and also defend the Ndejje Volley Open title.
These pre-season tournaments serve as a platform for clubs to showcase their new talents as they prepare for the most prestigious games, the league games which will serve off in September 2021.
