A solo goal in the 55th minute scored by Franck Nduwimana helped Royal to secure 3 points on matchday 24.
Royal de Muramvya who currently host their matches at the Ingoma Stadium in Gitega Province, on Thursday, the 4th of March defeated Inter Star in a 1-0 win where Nduwimana scored his 8th goal of the championship.
The win helped Royal move up to the eighth place with 34 points. Later that day, in a short interview with Ground Sports, Franck Nduwimana said they aim to continue to win to ensure they finish at least in the top 4.
“We continue to work hard and hopefully God will enable us to finish in the top 4 and it is still possible,” he said.
The Primus League competition is very tight at the moment with table leaders, Flambeau only 11 points ahead of Royal. Messager Ngozi in 4th position is 6 points ahead of Royal with 6 rounds to go to end the league.
Franck Nduwimana, who is in top form said he has to increase the number of goals to have him finish this season as a top scorer. The 19-year-old forward aims to play internationally and also get called up in the senior national team.
“God will enable me because I have a passion for football, my mother knows it and supports me. I have to continue to work hard to get to my dream, moving from the Burundian league and go to the advanced leagues at the professional level is my ambition,” he added
