League title holders, Nemo Stars almost face yet another loss just after one against National Club Championship champions sports.
Playing in the Uganda National Volleyball League is not a matter of winning a match but rather how you win. The criteria to get in a particular position on the league table heavily depends on that final outcome.
For a team like Nemo, a 3-1 or 3-2 win is not something the team needs right now as many other teams a looking to dethrone one of the most successful clubs in the country. Today Nemo started round and their quest for National Volleyball League Playoffs with a 3-2 win against the boys from Nkumba.
This is not a good result for the Stars as potential titles contenders OBB and Sport-S are off to a good one. This does not go to say that the opponents for the above-mentioned teams are of equal strengths. Nonetheless, at this point strategy is key and Nemo Stars need to win the right way.
OBB take advantage of Nemo’s result today to take second place below table leaders Sport-S with all 3 teams having played 3 games.
Nemo Stars today missed the services of the middle attacker, Malinga locally known as Redman who is a key component of the team given his track record. However, the team lined up National Team Captain George Aporu and also had the services of the best setter in Africa Smith Okumu.
Nemo faces KAVC-A next weekend after the latter plays Nkumba tomorrow.
