New UVF Boss – ‘The Votes Received Clearly Show The Confidence Delegates Have In Us’

New UVF Boss Sadik Nasiwu stated that the over 200 votes received is a clear acknowledgement of the confidence the delegates have in him. 

It was the start of a new chapter for The Uganda Volleyball Federation UVF yesterday when the new elect Board Of Administrators were announced at the event attended by many at the Lugoga field hockey grounds. The activities kicked off early morning and ended in the evening in time for everyone to travel safely back home.

Section 2.3..6.1 of the UVF Consitution stipulates;
Before the close of the congress, the Congress elects the Six Executive Board of Administration officers at its session, comprising, The President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary and the treasurer. The three members representing the District Associations and the three members representing the Premier Clubs are to be elected by their respective delegates during the congress. The Board of Administration will appoint all commissions immediately after the congress. The Chairperson of each commission or Council will be a member of the Board of Administration.

Following the requirement mentioned above, the following Officers will be handed office for the next tenure.

General Secretary – Godwin Nakaana Ssenyondo

Assistant General Secretary – Eunice Nuwabigaba

The new UVF boss Sadik Nasiwu said, “We the new executive and board, we are delighted and happy about the transparency of how this exercise has gone. We have just been announced as the new executive and board of the federation and we are going to start our work today. We are going to plan on how to start the league. Very important we are going to start our league.”

Uganda has been entrusted by CAVB to host the Women’s U20 African Nation’s Volleyball Championships between 18th and 26th February 2021. “We have our girls training down there, we are going to host that qualifier here in Kampala. We are taking up this challenge because we know it is our challenge and we have been thinking about it, that as soon as we come into the office as we are, we are going to take up that mantle and host this event,” said the new UVF boss.

The elective congress result from yesterday is the start of a new to a new chapter in volleyball of Uganda as the new UVF boss Sadik Nasiwu who stepped down returns and promises to get the sport back and better than what he left.
