Rutsiro FC thrash Espoir FC 4-0 at Umuganda with a goal from Jules Watanga Shukulu and a Jean Claude Nizeyimana hat-trick.
During the Friday afternoon match, Rutsiro FC had the chance to exact revenge for their devastating loss from the previous week, and Okoko Godefroid’s team seized the opportunity.
Jean Claude Nizeyimana gave his team the lead in the 20th minute, and he extended their lead in the 46th. Jules Watanga Shukulu then secured the victory with a free header in the 53rd minute following a superb corner kick by Eric Kwizera.
Another goal by Nizeyimana, better known as “Rutsiro,” brought up his season’s first hat trick, in the 62nd minute. The Rutsiro district-sponsored club won by a score of 4-0 at the end of the game.
With 21 points, Rutsiro is currently in 14th position in the Rwanda Premier League, 5 points above the relegation zone. After the international break, they will battle the Marines.
Espoir FC’s chances of remaining in the highest division of competition are hampered by the fact that they are still at the bottom of the table.
