Nshobozwabyosenumukiza scores 20 points off the bench to help APR Basketball Club claim a 77-75 narrow win over the defending champions, REG BBC.

KIGALI, February 18, Following a loss against Patriots on Saturday, APR BBC gets back into the win column with a 2 point victory over the defending champions.

In an eye-catching matchup of Rwanda Basketball League between two title contenders, APR didnt want to let it go and drop a consecutive game with Ntore Habimana making his long waited debut for Army side.

REG, led by Dean Glacus Murray, had a fully available roster for the game to face a very energetic and athletic team in APR BBC. A reunion for Adonis Filer and Cleveland Thomas who both started together for the first time since the 2022 Championship game contributed more, however it was not good enough

Cliff Owuor’s team controlled the pace of play for the first two quarters to a halftime lead, (19-17, 18-17) But REG BBC made some adjustments in third quarter and entered in last 10 mins period with 2 points led, 55-53.

Owuor’s team fought back in the 4th quarter again and got it done. 77-75, A decent performance and a much needed victory to back in the top league title race

The REG BBC’s dynamic duo of Adonis Filer & Cleveland Thomas combined for 44 PTS and 7 3PM. Adonis led the way with 25 points, 9 rebounds and six assists.

Jacques Wilson Nshobozwabyosenumukiza came off the bench to score a team high 20 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 4 balls. He was playing against his former club

REG BBC will look for a bounce back on Friday night against their arch-rivals Patriots before start off the 2023 BAL journey.

REG, and Patriots stand at 8-1, while APR improves to 7-1
