Delwan Graham leads the Rwanda Energy Group, REG to a convincing 64-48 win over the Kwara Falcons after tallying a double-double during the opening game of the Sahara Conference of the Basketball Africa League
On Sunday, March 12, at the Dakar Arena in Senegal, the Rwandan Flag bearers for the 2023 Basketball Africa League defeated the Nigerian team’s Kwara Falcons 64-48 to earn the conference’s first victory.
Delwan Graham, an American power forward, had an outstanding league debut, playing both ends of the floor. Throughout his 35 minutes on the court, he grabbed 12 rebounds and scored a game-high 16 points.
Pitchou Manga, the big man, played strong defense while also pulling down 12 rebounds, including 10 defensive ones. The Congolese center scored 7 points in 23 minutes while also blocking 4 shots.
Also chipping in 10 and 14 points, respectively, were Adonis Filer and Cleveland Thomas.
With 15 points, Jawad Adekoya is the team’s top scorer for Nigeria. For the Falcons team, which was playing in its debut professional league, he was the only player to record a double-digit scoring total.
REG is taking part in the BAL for the second time after being defeated by FAP of Cameroon in the semifinals the previous year.
On March 14, they face a significant test in ABC Fighters. In the league’s opening game, Abidjan Basket Club Fighters stunned AS Douanes.
