The Rwanda Premier League KickOffs this friday and Sunrise FC’s stadium has not yet been cleared for the upcoming campaign.
The federation executive committee decided on October 13, 2020, that the 2020/2021 Premier League campaign was tentatively set for December 4th, 2020.
The schedule revealed that only Sunrise has not yet been given a license to host games at their home venue, Nyagatare Stadium also know as Gologotha. The team will be fully licensed if they meet the requirements at their hosting grounds. 14 teams have been visited as part of FERWAFA Club Licensing, the 2 promoted teams have not yet been assessed however they will host their games at venues that had already been approved by the club licensing committee thus they are cleared to host the games at the suggested venues, Umuganda Stadium for Rutsiro FC and Kigali Stadium for Gorilla FC. This means that Rubavu district stadium, Umuganda Will accommodate 3 teams while Kigali stadium will be the home of 7 teams.
In the first leg fixtures released, all 6 games of Matchday 1 will take place on December 4th, APR FC and AS Kigali fixtures will be postponed since they will be engaged in continental club competitions.
