Three-time African champions Nigeria to play friendly games against Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia says the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Nigeria will contend with Sierra Leone in two qualifying matches for the 2021 Cup of Nations scheduled for November. The matches were to have been played in March but were rescheduled due to COVID-19. Nigeria is in the lead of their qualifying group, including Benin, Lesotho and Sierra Leone, for the continental tournament, to be played in 2022 in Cameroon.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Confederation of African Football (CAF) made the decision to push the games to January 2022. The 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Cameroon with Women’s Africa Cup of Nations cancelled.
