The Silverbacks of Uganda record first win against wounded Cameroon who played with less than the allowed number of players.
Cameroon continues to suffer and this time losing yet another match to Uganda. Their first misery came when they had to forfeit the match to South Sudan after registering positive COVID-19 cases in their camp.
The Silverbacks made no mistake capitalizing on the disadvantaged Cameroon side who played with a roster of 9 players rather than the usual 12. The boys from the pearl of Africa led the entire match leaving their opponent no chance to take the lead.
Despite the loss to Africa Giants, Senegal in the opening game, The Silverbacks came properly inclined to win their first game of the tournament Q1 (27-22) Q2 (17-11) Q3 (18-14) Q4 (18-19) ending the match 80-66
Apart from the improved performance of the entire team, the main highlight of the match came from the show by Adam Seiko who gathered 20 points from the 26 minutes spent on court.
This result drives Uganda to the top spot in Group D above group favorite Senegal who face South Sudan tonight.
Cameroon will have to work harder to qualify to the next stage as they face Senegal in the last match of the group stages. Uganda hopes to win their last group stage match in order to increase their chances of qualifying.
