The Uganda Futsal Super League season 2020/2021 to begin in November with more team and more games for the fans.
After the first-ever Futsal General Assembly that was held in September 12th 2020, The Association agreed to increase the number of clubs to eight from Six of last season 2019/2020.
The 2020/2021 Futsal clubs to participate are.
- Park Futsal Club – Kampala central
- Yeak Futsal club – Rubaga.
- Aidenal SOSA Futsal club – Entebbe.
- Mengo city Futsal club – Mengo Kampala.
- Dreamlike Futsal club – Lubowa Wakiso.
- KJT Futsal club – Kampala central.
- Kisenyi Futsal club – Kisenyi Mengo.
- MUBS Futsal club – Nakawa.
This means Futsal fans have more games to watch come November 2020 when the new season kicks off.
The coronavirus pandemic largely combated sporting events across the globe and there was no cutting the slake for Uganda Futsal Super League.
FAU CEO Mugera Ibrahim asserts that the Futsal club licencing process has been ongoing in order to keep pushing clubs to better professional settings.
The above clubs had to submit, proof of club ownership documents, Bank account details, club statutes for governance, signed declarations to comply and adhere to all FAU, FUFA, CAF and FIFA statutes at all times.
In the other preparations Federation of Uganda Football Association conducted 2-day referees training from FUFA technical centre Njeru in Jinja and Star times stadium Lugogo on 24th and 25th Oct 2020.
The referees underwent mandatory medical and fitness over the weekend. The exercise involved both physical fitness and medical examination for all categories; Football, Beach soccer and Futsal.
A total of 50 refs (23 FIFA) and (22 national) refs took tests at FUFA technical centre Njeru and star times stadium Lugogo in Kampala concurrently.
A total of 4 Futsal refs, 2 FIFA Futsal refs that is Nsubuga Emmy Brian and Ssengendo Isaac, 2 FUFA Futsal refs Kazoora Emmanuel and Mulindwa Ismail took part in the exercise.
Head of Program Mr Ronnie Kalema emphasised to Futsal website that the performance of Futsal refs was so good.
Mulindwa Ismail FUFA Futsal ref noted that “Because a healthy ref is a game requirement, we were exposed to new fitness directions as the game is changing day in day out. Refs should be on the same page with the players.”
