Young Africans ‘Yanga’ lost their first match of the Vodacom Premier League season 2020/2021. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Coastal Union at Mkwakwani Stadium.

Yanga visited Coastal Union in what was not an easy encounter on Thursday, March 4, 2021, that ended in a defeat, putting coach Kaze Cedrick in the spotlight and also more pressure on him because in case rivals Simba win their postponed games, they will move 5 points ahead of Yanga.

In the first 10 minutes of the game, Yanga had an opportunity to open the scoring but Tuisila Kisinda failed to convert from a spot-kick with Coastal Union’s goalkeeper, Ibrahim making the save of the day.

A minute later Coastal Union took the lead through Erick Okarai, the lead that lasted 28 minutes when Kisinda restored parity after missing a penalty early in the game.

While many felt that the two teams were going to share spoils, in the 84th minute, Mudathir Said scored Coastal Union’s second goal that also decided the game. Fulltime: Coastal Union 2-1 Young Africans

Despite losing, Yanga is still leading the table with 49 points followed by Simba with 45 points with 3 games in hand.
